In a biography that reads like a travelogue-cum-mystery, Bryson once more teaches without preaching, and his witty and elegant writing remains as delightful as ever.
In this biography of William Shakespeare, Bryson doesnt add anything that is not already known. He doesnt draw miraculous conclusions. He doesnt make earth shattering claims and discoveries. What he does is a little more difficult than that.
Bryson compiles the well-known, and the less-known facts about the man we know as William Shakespeare, and combines these into a fast paced, chronological essay that is accessible to the layman reader. Spiced up with interesting trivia and often quirky statistics from the life and times of Shakespeare, English royalty, and the world of theatre, the book reads well for anyone with a passing curiosity in Shakespeare, drama, or London.

More info... Despite the plethora of vampire novels out there, new writer Jocelynn Drake debuts a smartly written novel with new mythology. I saw Jocelynn Drake's new book everywhere - and I avoided it. I have to be honest: we're having a glut of vampire/vampire hunter books out in the reading market and I really didn't think I could handle one more series (and they're always a series). More info... Today I am reviewing some bs Christian propaganda that gets peddled by one of the local churches here in Japan. I'll give you my conclusion now...this book is horrible so don't spend money on this book ($3 pamphlet actually which I did not buy). I would suggest reading it though to understand exactly how extreme some people are in their interpretation of the Bible.
